Welcome to Cedar Lane Equine Clinic

We are all about the horse. Each equine patient receives expert, compassionate care focused on improving the quality of life for your horse. Owners choose us, because we provide plans tailored for each owners’ needs. We offer: routine service, emergency care internal medicine, breeding farm services and performance exams.

Our vet, Nancy Roth, D.V.M., is a 1989 graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. From 1989 to 2005, Dr. Roth has practiced in the western suburbs and rural area outside of Chicago, working for the largest equine ambulatory practice in the Midwest.

She has worked with many breeds, from minis to drafts and the full spectrum of performance horses; gaited, pleasure. cutters, reiners, hunters, jumpers, dressage and eventers. In addition to providing routine and emergency veterinary services to her client’s horses, Dr. Roth finds time to compete on horse trials, judge shows and give clinics.

“You cannot remain unmoved by the gentleness and conformation of a well-bred and well-trained horse – more than a thousand pounds of big boned, well muscled animal, slick of coat and sweet of smell, obedient and mannerly. And yet forever a menace with its innocent power and ineradicable inclination to seek refuge in flight and always a burden with its need to be fed, wormed and shod, with its liability to cuts and infections, to laming and heaves. But when it greets you with a nicker, nuzzles your chest and regards you with a large and liquid eye, the question of where you want to be and what you want to do has been answered.”

Albert Borgmann
Crossing the Postmodern Divide, 1992
